Are you interested in getting involved in the upcoming adult-use cannabis industry in Connecticut?

We are seeking a Cannabis Retail Manager in Connecticut with of focus on applicants that qualify for Social Equity Status. Our company is founded on social justice and giving back to individuals and communities harmed by the prohibition of cannabis. As such, our future cannabis retail business plans to employ at least 65% of their employee base with individuals who qualify for Social Equity status.

To qualify for Social Equity Status, you must be an individual who:

  • Had an average household income of less than 300% of the state median household income over the three tax years immediately preceding such individual’s application; AND
  • Was a resident of a disproportionately impacted area for not less than five of the ten years immediately preceding the date of such application; OR
  • Was a resident of a disproportionately impacted area for not less than nine years prior to attaining the age of 18.

A “disproportionately impacted area” means a census tract in Connecticut that has a historical conviction rate for drug-related offenses greater than one-tenth, or an unemployment rate greater than 10%.

ABOUT THE JOB
DETAILS

The Cannabis Retail Manager is responsible for supporting the retail team by providing retail management of the facility. The position holder will partner with retail agents, security agents, and others to successfully provide a top-notch and safe retail experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Qualify for Social Equity Status in Connecticut.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or commensurate experience).
  • Demonstrated passion to serving the cannabis community.
  • Proven ability to manage teams effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Understanding of accounting principles and ability to interpret financial data.
  • Computer operating skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must not have been convicted of any felony offense
  • Marijuana product knowledge highly desirable
  • Retail experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Experience in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Retail management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of retail operations
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment
  • Supervisory and team-building skills
  • Ability to pass all required background checks to work with cannabis
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Working knowledge of business processes and system development
